I recently ordered 5 Thermalright TL-K12 fans from Computer Orbit. Having already seen some reviews of these fans, I knew they were really good. Essentially, these are clones of the Noctua NF-A12. The technical specifications are almost identical between the Thermalright and Noctua fans. An important factor nowadays is the weight of the fans. Since the Thermalrights also weight over 200 grams, they are relatively heavy. However, this has the advantage that the plastic they are made of has a high material density, which reduces vibrations and noise during operation to a certain extent.
Therefore, it’s not surprising that these fans perform on par with the Noctua NF-A12 at a speed range of around 1400-1500 RPM. At higher speeds, they do get louder. However, as case fans, I wouldn’t let them run above 1300 RPM anyway. The airflow is more than sufficient, and the fans don’t cause much disturbance at that speed.
What I also really like is the subtle A-RGB lighting at the corners. Not too much, and not too little.
One of the 5 fans was defective in my order. It simply wouldn’t spin (I connected it to various PWM ports, but it didn’t work). After contacting computer orbit them and describing the issue, Computer Orbit promptly sent me a new fan free of charge. Everything works perfectly, and Computer Orbit is a great online retailer! Thank you!!!
